Online counselling issues and challenges
#RP02280-17 – Length: 6 hours
The online offer of counselling services, including psychological services, is becoming increasingly widespread. This professional offer of services raises specific ethical and professional challenges for mental health workers and counsellors: voluntary and informed consent, confidentiality, keeping and storing files, emergency measures, evaluation of customers’ technological competence, IT security, etc. But apart from these considerations, various questions remain: How effective is online counselling? What are its advantages and disadvantages? What are the limits and preconditions for this type of professional offer of services? What tools are available and what conditions are implemented for more secure services that are better suited to the offering of psychotherapy services? Etc.
